PRAYERS

To view an updated list of prayer requests click here.
We all know the power of prayer. We believe that special concerns call for special prayers. Thus the formation of the "Prayer Chain" at Our Savior's. We have eight individual chains consisting of 8-10 people on each chain. When a special prayer request is called into the church office, the Prayer Chain is started. The head of each chain is contacted, given the information pertinent to the concern and that person contacts the next person on their list until the list is completed. During the peak winter season with all 8 chains functioning, there are more than 70 people praying at any given time for that special concern.

I you have someone you feel needs those extra prayers, please do not hestitate to contact the church office to get the "Prayer Chain" working. There is Power in Prayer!

SUPPORT GROUPS

Grief Support Group
Dealing with loss is never easy. For those who have lost a loved one, there is a grief support group that meets on Wednesday mornings at 10am at the East Mesa Campus in the church library. Women and men who have lost spouses are encouraged to attend.

Cancer Support Group
For those who have had or are currently battling cancer, there is a cancer support group that meets on Fridays at 10:30 am in the Conference room of the East Mesa Campus. The conference room is located on the west side of the building near the offices.

AA
There are two AA groups that meet at the Epiphany AJ Campus in the Friendship Hall. One meets Fridays at 7:30pm, and another Saturdays at 6:30pm. New Members are welcome.

Adult Care Day
Adult Care Day is held on Thursday afternoons from 1-5pm at the East Mesa Campus. It has been a tremendous success. Adult Care Day provides care givers an opportunity to have some free time for themselves - to go shopping, make doctor appointments, get their hair fixed, or just sleep, if need be. This allows the Care Giver freedom, while knowing their loved one is well taken care of. The Care Receiver gets almost one-on-one attention. They interact, play games, listen to music, a variety of things - all the while being taken care of by caring and watchful eyes. This is a program anyone would feel comfortable with leaving their loved one. The Care Giver OR the Care Receiver does not need to be a member of OSLC to participate.

DOOR KEEPERS

The name "Door Keepers" comes from Psalms 84:10 "...For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in the tents of wickedness".

Our Door Keepers is a group of volunteers willing to serve others. They provide special prayers, make phone calls, make and deliver food when someone is in need of meals brought in for a short period of time, make visits in the home, provide transportation to doctor appointments or to the grocery store, run errands or shop for someone who cannot and to do light housekeeping on a short term basis. What we can give of ourselves to others has no price, or reaps no riches, other than the pure pleasure of being of service to others. Please contact info@oursaviorslutheran.org if you are interested in becoming part of this group.
